Ennis, Inc.
Keith S. Walters serves as Chairman,
President and Chief Executive Officer of Ennis, Inc., a member of the NYSE
(EBF) since 1960.
Mr. Walters was appointed CEO of
Ennis in November 1997, and assumed the roles of Chairman and President
in July of 1998. Since
beginning his tenure with the company, Mr. Walters has led the Company’s
growth by implementing a precise acquisition strategy. A
total of nine separate acquisitions combined with the existing strength
of Ennis, have brought an additional $400 million in sales while continuing
to offer returns much higher than industry competition.
During his fifth year
with the company, Ennis, Inc., the nation’s largest wholesale print manufacturer, received
recognition as one of the “200 Best Small Companies” by Forbes Magazine. Ennis was recently named to this list
again for the third consecutive year.
Mr. Walters’ previous positions
include Business Unit Director of numerous manufacturing facilities within
United Technologies Automotive and VP of Operations for Atlas/Soundolier,
an electronics wholesaler. Though his early background was in materials
management, much of Mr. Walter’s experience has been in the areas
of strategic planning and acquisition integration, while retaining P & L
responsibilities for multiple manufacturing locations.
He has received various
industry awards such as the Vibro/Dynamics Productivity Award, the top-performing
plant on ROI nine times while with United Technologies, and collaborated
on an 18-month special project titled “Factory of the Future,” a
book of future trends in manufacturing. He
was named the BFL&S Manufacturer of the Year in February of 2000 and
has been a keynote speaker at the International Association for Document
and Information Solutions Conference. Mr.
Walters has been a director for the International Association for Document
Technologies, currently serves as a director for the Document Management
Industry Association and is a member of the printing industries honorary
society, Order of the Black Leaf.
Mr. Walters has been featured in numerous business
articles in publications such as Barron's, PrintSolutions, Business Forms
Labels & Systems, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and numerous industry specific
publications.
Mr. Walters earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University. He was
raised in Verona, Ohio and currently resides in Ovilla, Texas with his
wife Margaret and their two children: Stacy and Mia.
